Jimmy Patelis has a long history serving our communities, developing our economy and putting Montana's interests first.
I am committed to eliminating the barriers to economic development and fostering a business-friendly environment through less government and a more open marketplace to hold business.
I support reducing state taxes on Social Security benefits. Montana is one of the least tax-friendly states for retirees.
I oppose any restrictions on the type or number of firearms any law-abiding citizen may own or possess. I am a member of the NRA, and as a 38-year law enforcement officer I support the right of the people from interference by the federal government to bear arms.
Taxes on every level should be low, broad-based and easily understood. I firmly believe that taxes should not be used to redistribute wealth, but to provide necessary services to the people that are paying taxes.
I support another stream of revenue as a way to reduce property taxes. The hard working home owners of Montana should not carry the entire load of responsibility of property taxes. Property taxes are increasing every 2 years to the point where people on fixed incomes can not live in their homes anymore.
